End of June 2010, First Media will introduce the first Wimax 4G Internet service in Indonesia. It will do if the test certificate successfully pocketed operation-worthy (ULO) from the Directorate of Standardization Ministry Kominfo DGPT.
The first launching in the form of soft launch will be held at First Media on Monday, June 28, 2010, in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, Banten.
"After a long-awaited, 4G Wimax Broadband Internet technology has been present in Indonesia. Be the first to prove his greatness," wrote the prologue in Sitra WiMAX soft launch invitation.
Sitra Wimax is a trademark of First Media for broadband wireless access (BWA) nomadic 802.16d who won the tender for frequency licenses in the 2.3 GHz band. Lippo Group subsidiary that won the first zone (North Sumatera), with a tender value of USD 7.201 billion and zone 4 (Greater Jakarta and Banten) worth USD 121.201 billion.
Wimax is short for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave told Access, a broadband wireless access technology (broadband wireless access / BWA), which have high speed access with a wide range. With data speeds theoretically up to 70 MBps, Wimax can be applied for last mile broadband connection, backhaul, and high speed enterprise.
