General Requirment Standardization 802.16 / m which is being developed have:
1. In accordance with all requirements of IMT - Advanced Performance Requirment, including throughput, error performance and end to end latencies.
2. Supports different cell sizes in accordance with the cellular layer system.
3. 802.16 System / m able to provide a mechanism reliable network security and efficient for protect the network itself, and the user's system.
4. Operate on the bandwidth 50-20 MHz or more
5. Operates at a frequency of less than 6 GHz.
6. Duplex schemes: using TDD, FDD and HFDD
7. Legacy support: Mobile System Profile Release 1.0. In it there are settings:
- Ability to operate with legacy BS
- 802.16 / 802.16 m / e can operate at carier same RF bandwidth same / different.
- 802.16 / m can support the handover of almost identical to the legacy of the legacy MS BS and vice versa.
Functional Requirment
1. Peak data rate:
- Downlink (BS to MS)> 6.5 bps / Hz and uplink (MS to BS)> 2.8 bps / Hz.

- Very Low data rate : 16 kbps
- Low data rate and data multimedia : 144 kbps
- Medium multimedia : 2 Mpbs
- High multimedia : 30 Mbps
- Superhigh multimedia : 1 Gbps
4. Optimized Switching antara layanan broadcast dan unicast.
5. Layanan E-MBS ( Enhanced Multicast Broadcast ) melalui dedicated carrier.
Performance Requirment
1. Throughput: 16e and related user 2x 2x sector throughput (bps / Hz / Sector) on the DL and 1.5 x for UL
2. 1.5x capacity of VOIP (active users / MHz / sector). There is a minimum of 60 users active VOIP
3. Optimization for cell sizes of up to 5 km. The decrease in spectral efficiency 5 -30 km.
4. Services E-MBS 4 bps / Hz for a distance of about 0.5 km and 2 bps / Hz for the distance 1.5 km
5. Accuracy based on place of service:
- Handset - based position: 50m accuracy (67% off time), 150m (95% off time)
- Network - based position: 100m accuracy (67% off time), 300m (95% off time)
Operational Requirment

Wimax Implementation in Indonesia
