Mobile WiMAX based on IEEE 802.16e standard enables WiMAX systems applied to portable and mobile applications as well as fixed and nomadic. Mobile WiMAX introduces OFDMA technology (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Multiple Access) and supports several other features to provide mobile broadband services for users in the state of motion up to speeds of 120 km / hr. These features include:




a.Toleransi in multipath and interference with the self-orthogonalities sub-channel, both for the DL (downlink) and UL (uplink).

b. Scalable Channel Bandwidth from 1:25 until 20 MHz.

c. Time Division Duplex (TDD) provides efficiencies that support asymmetric traffic, exchange channel, and is supported by an advanced antenna systems.

d. Hybrid-Automatic Repeat Request (H-ARQ) to provide extra resistance on the path to rapidly changing conditions on the high-speed users.

e. Frequency Selective Scheduling and subkanalisasi with several choices of permutations, on Mobile WiMAX provides the capability to optimize the quality of the connection based on signal strength relative to each user.

f. Conservative Management Power ensure the efficiency of battery power on mobile devices and portable sleep mode and idle.

g Network-Optimized Hard Handoff (HHO) combines the features of DVB-H, MediaFLO and 3GPP E-UTRA to:

1. High data rate and wide coverage using a Single Frequency Network.

2. The allocation of frequency resources are flexible.

3. Low power consumption on mobile devices.

4. Short duration of channel switching.

h. Smart Antenna subkanalisasi and exchanges supported by the channel allows the use of a wide range of antenna systems, including beamforming, space-time coding and spatial multiplexing.

i.Fractional Frequency Reuse controls co-channel interference to support the repetition frequency spectrum efficiency with minimal degradation.

    di indonesia sendiri sdh banyak provider-provider yg menggunakan teknologi wimax utk komunikasi antar jaringan. baik provider GSM/CDMA ataupun ISP, memang sebagian besar masih di area JABODETABEK dan kota" besar lainnya. mungkin area lain akan menyusul...
